Techniques for Yacht Cleaning

Shipshape Services concentrate on the entire yacht to ensure it is clean throughout, including that bit just below the waterline. We use a combination of high pressure steam clean equipment and jet wash to remove ground-in dirt and to release salt deposits on the yacht hull and cockpit areas. Then we get personal and use elbow grease and our own branded quality cleaning materials to conquer the scum line, hard to reach and stubborn marks. The final and most important part of the yacht cleaning process in our opinion is protection of your yacht and dirt prevention. We will always use a hot soapy wash followed by a hot wax to seal the clean surfaces and offer protection to the skin of your yacht. In adition to this, for longer term protection you may then want to have a radiant wax polish applied, or perhaps the gel coat needs a little cutting back prior to us applying the wax polish. We can advise on all of this, as we always visit the boat and send each customer a written quote of our suggestions.
