Graffiti Removal

We all know that graffiti is an increasing problem in the UK today and that it should be removed within 24 hours of its appearance to deter further graffiti attacks. Because graffiti attracts graffiti, a relatively small, harmless-looking name or ‘tag' can quickly turn a wall into a graffiti-covered eyesore if not removed as quickly as possible.

Rapid Removal -
Studies show that graffiti vandals move on when their "work" isn't allowed to stay on display. Rapid removal is the key to effective graffiti abatement. Before you begin scrubbing, however, there are some things to consider. Graffiti is notoriously difficult to get out of porous masonries like concrete, limestone, and soft brick. The wrong cleaning method can damage walls or permanently lock in the stains.

Regrettably, the culprits responsible for graffiti have no respect for private houses, shops, walls or fences.

With residential properties the responsibility for removing the graffiti rests with the owner. Most buildings insurance policies include cover for criminal damage of this nature, so it is advisable to check with your insurance company before deciding what to do.

As with the removal of fly posters, the rapid identification and removal of graffiti is essential to maintaining confidence in the public realm.

Graffiti removal is a specialised cleaning task. Our staff are fully trained to use a wide range of chemicals and techniques, ensuring that they can complete each job to the highest standard and safely.

How do I find out more?

Please call our office on 023 92 324 500 or email info@shipshapeservices.co.uk for a quotation. Prior to quoting we will need to know the amount or area of graffiti, the underlying surface and the location. For ground level work we will normally be able to give you a quote for removal straight away.

We will also need to know that the underlying surface is sound and in good condition. If the wall is in need of re-pointing, then washing down the wall may cause some of the pointing to be removed. We require all of our customers to sign an indemnity form confirming this.
